A scrupulously honest cop DCP Ashwini Kumar (Dilip Kumar) has a very difficult decision to make when his son Vijay Kumar as a child is kidnapped by gangster JK. Verma (Amrish Puri). JK Verma demands the release of one his accomplices who was arrested and jailed by Ashwini Kumar or he will kill Vijay. Ashwini refuses to let a criminal be released and so Vijay decides to escape from the kidnappers himself and is eventually saved. Vijay grows up as (Amitabh Bachchan) never forgetting that his father refused to break the rules of his police work even if it meant saving his life. Vijay leaves home and starts living with Roma Devi (Smita Patil), a woman who has a spare room to rent. Eventually he falls in love with her and they get married secretly. He starts working for mobster K.D Narang (Kulbhushan Kharbanda), who used to be one of JK Verma's accomplices and had let Vijay escape from JK Verma's clutches as a child. Vijay sees this a favour to him for what he did so he decides to do all of Narang's illegal activities for him. Eventually the rivalry between JK and Narang forces Vijay to act as bodyguard for Narang and go on the run with him. Will Ashwini arrest him or will the fact the Vijay is his son stop him from doing his duty.?

Sehar's (Ayesha Takia) world turns topsy-turvy when she gets a clue about the missing Sunday of her life, which points to a possible violent attack on her. A.C.P Rajveer (Ajay Devgan) takes up the case to sort out the complicated and jumbled up threads of Sehar's life.
In the process of solving Sehar's case it comes to light that on Sunday, different people interacted with her and amongst them, one could be the accused. The lot included Ballu (Arshad Warsi), the taxi driver and his friend, Kumar (Irrfan Khan), a struggling NSD actor, Ritu (Anjana Sukhani), Sehar's close friend, a scary and suspicious character who resides in Sehar's society, and the group whom she had come across while partying at the discotheque.

K is so addicted to smoking that is has become impossible for him to live without it. However, he gets a rude jolt when fed up with her husband’s craving for ciggies, his wife, Anjali walks out on him never to return unless he quits smoking. It is then he decides to do something about his obsession. He goes to meet Baba Bengali Sealdahwaale, who runs a ‘Prayogshala’ -- a centre for rehabilitation from all sorts of addiction and afflictions. When he meets the Baba; he walks into an agreement he can’t walk out of. Proud and desperate, K throws caution to the wind and challenges the Baba’s diktats. However, he realizes that he can’t escape Baba no matter what he tries. Until of course the contract is complete.

Guide (1965)

GUIDE (1965) is an unsung classic of Hindi cinema, starring major Bollywood star Dev Anand. It's a beautifully-produced modern love story and focuses on what happens when a tourist guide takes up with an ex-dancer who has been abandoned by her archaeologist husband and then guides her career as she becomes a musical star. It has much in common with classic Hollywood romantic musicals in the way it seamlessly incorporates songs and musical numbers into the action and charts the success of its female star. It adds to this rags-to-riches show biz story some characteristic Indian twists which give it greater scope and deeper meaning.

Based on a novel by R.K. Narayan, GUIDE stars Anand as Raju, a glib, well-liked freelance tour guide who takes visitors, Indian and foreign, to historic sites around Delhi and tells them stories--some true, some embellished--about these magnificent places. When Raju takes Rosy (Waheeda Rehman), the ex-dancer, under his wing it causes a rift between him and his mother, friends and co-workers, so he leaves with Rosy and helps her to embark on a career as a singing and dancing performer.

However, as Rosy achieves stardom, Raju falls into bad habits, palling around with the money men, drinking and gambling heavily. Eventually, he is arrested for forging a check and is sent to jail. When he gets out he starts life anew and wanders alone far and wide before winding up in a remote desert village where, thanks to the endless stream of pearls of wisdom he dispenses, he is taken as a holy man. In the midst of a terrible drought, he is compelled to embark on a fast so as not to disappoint the villagers who believe his fast will bring rain. All the while, Rosy and his mother are searching for him.

The film is a re-telling of a popular Indian tale, previously filmed as Loves of a Mughal Prince (1928) and Anarkali (1953). It is loosely based on an episode in the life of the Mughal prince Jahangir. In the movie, the great conqueror Akbar (played by Prithviraj Kapoor) and his Rajput wife, Jodhabai (played by Durga Khote) have but one son, a weak and pleasure-loving prince named Salim (Dilip Kumar). Salim falls in love with Anarkali (Madhubala), a slave and court-dancer. He wants to marry her; his father objects, and throws Anarkali into prison. Anarkali refuses to reject Salim. Salim revolts against his father, is beaten in battle, and sentenced to death. Anarkali buys his life with her own and is condemned to be walled up alive. However, the emperor relents at the last moment.
